主要从事农田生态系统温室气体排放的生物地球化学过程研究,擅长采用稳定性碳同位素技术研究甲烷排放过程。表论文30余篇,其中SCI论文21篇,参与中文专著编写2本。

近十年针对稻田CH4排放过程及机理研究不足的现状,采用13C同位素自然丰度法系统研究了稻田的CH4产生、氧化和传输等过程,量化了根际和土水界面的CH4氧化,设计了新的观测装置评估了植株传输CH4的碳同位素分馏系数,阐明了水分管理和有机肥施用对CH4排放过程及其碳同位素组成,特别是对CH4产生途径和氧化百分率的影响,明确了常年淹水稻田CH4排放量极大的内在机制。发表Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics、Soil Biology & Biochemistry 等SCI论文21篇,以第一作者发表SCI论文13篇(7篇TOP),参与中文编著2部。担任《Soil Biology & Biochemistry》、《Soil & Tillage Research》、《Geoderma》和《土壤学报》等10余种杂志的审稿人。获中国科学院院长优秀奖和中国土壤学会优秀青年学者奖。任第14届亚洲大洋洲地球科学学会(AOGS 2017)Biogeosciences Section分会召集人。
